From the world of the Bizarre

So what's your opinion? Is this Constitutionally protected speech? Or should we curtail obscenity by stopping such behavior? You decide.

I get really frustrated by "constitutionally protected speech" everytime some idiot throws the f-word out when my 4-year old is around...

When my oldest was about a year and a half old she saw a guy flip off another guy (they were clearly friends - what the heck was he doing, saying hello?

oops forgot to finish that -

So, Rachel sees this - I'm thankful that she's not just a little older... Are there public obscenity laws anymore?

I think we take "constitutional" anything a bit too far these days...

Right on Bill! Oh, that word frustrates me. I had my three kids in the car yesterday with the windows down and the person next to me yells, "F_ _ _ _ _ _ idiot!" to a car at the intersection. I know it is just a matter of time before I hear the "word" from Aaron's mouth as to "What does that mean Daddy?" What's the value of free speech in obscene words?

Naturally through the eyes of a pastor you would want to make the world a warm and fuzzy place to raise your children. However, the world is not warm and fuzzy, and being in the world means that censorship and conversations with our children are neccessary, regarding the wrongful use of our words.

That said, the "constitutionally protected speech" flies with me. I think that persons that are annoyed with someone else should be able to voice their opinion without fear of retribution. Knowing that their opinions can be heard by others!
